5. Break-out Group Leader for 7th – 12th grade
Each week during youth group there will be a time for an adult leader to spend 15-20 minutes getting to know a small group of students. Theses groups, called “Break-Out Groups,” will occur during youth group between 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Leaders will have a set of questions prepared by one of the student pastors for them to ask their students in their group. This is a great time to get to know students and help them feel connected. Time Commitment: 1 ½ hours – Every Wednesday during school year from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
6. Small Group Leader for 5th and 6th Grade Students
We need an adult to facilitate discussion and speak truth into the lives of our 5th and 6th grade students during their small group time. Small groups last for forty-five minutes during our evening programming. There are six to eight students assigned to each small group. Leaders receive questions prepared in advance or simply walk their students through a book designed to foster spiritual growth. Time Commitment: 1 ½ hours – Every Wednesday from 6:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
7. Life Group Leaders for students in 7th – 12th grade
We believe great opportunities for discipleship exist in environments where there are deep relationships, accountability, love, correction, grace and mercy. Life Group Leaders will lead a small group of about four to five students of either their choosing or they can be assigned by our small groups pastor. Leaders choose the time and place to meet each week outside our normal Wednesday night program time. Material, direction and support will be provided to the leader. Life Groups are completely voluntary and are seen as a privilege. In order for the students to gain the most benefit from these groups, they will be held to a high level of expectation and commitment. Time Commitment: 2 hour – The leaders decided when and where to meet.

CLUBS (We need leaders for 5th & 6th grade Clubs, MS & HS)
Our Clubs run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church every Wednesday evening during the school year. The purpose of Clubs is to foster an environment where students can development their talents, gifts and passions and are shown how to use them for God’s glory in ministry. Each of the Clubs focus on a specific area of interest and require a couple of adults to supervise them.
The following is a list of those Clubs:
9. Drama Club
Students act out skits before the lesson to help illustrate the point of the lesson. Adult leaders supervise the script writing process, practices and the actual skit performances.
10. Video Club
Direct students who shoot video announcements each week using students from each of the different grade levels. Videos are recorded Wednesday nights during Club time and shown during the weekend services. The Video Club leader shows students how to edit the videos and prepare the for each week’s services.
11. Vocal Club
Works with students to help them learn the worship songs for student worship services. Once a student is ready to participate with the worship band or student choir, they will be placed on a schedule to do so.
12. Art Club
There are many creative students who love to express themselves through their art. The Art Club will have a virtual art gallery on SErocks.com for the whole world to see. These students will help with special worship services and could have their art work displayed in the building from time to time.
13. Photography Club
One of the best ways we have to promote the youth group is through the power of a photograph. We need a handful of adults to lead a group of students in each grade level to photograph our regular Wednesday nights and our special events. Students will be taught basic principles of photography, how to reduce the file for online use and how to place our watermark on photos for display on social networks such as Facebook and SErocks.com. Students are welcome to bring their own digital camera equipment.
14. Games Club (5th & 6th grade students)
Show students how to do research for great games to play in the youth group. Game Club participants and take turns leading their peers in fun games each week. An adult would be needed to provide supervision and oversight.
15. Dance Club
Some students love to dance. We would love to have a dance Club for each of the three grade levels. Students can practice their dancing on Wednesday evening and then help lead worship during special worship services.
16. Music Club
Do you have an ear for music and enjoy teaching others how to play different instruments? Imagine if Southeast Christian Church began the largest Christian musician sending church in the country and it all started from teaching students as early as 5th grade how to play a guitar, a piano or the drums for Christ’s glory. We need adults to help students who have an interest in music to develop their skills and ultimately be a part of our different praise bands.
17. Audio/Visual/Lighting Club
We have been blessed with fantastic audio and video equipment here at Southeast. Imagine if we have a team of qualified students who were interested in being trained how to use all of our equipment to a point that they could be trusted to operate it on their own and teach others how to use it. We need adults with an interest in audio and video equipment to help teach students skills that they can immediately turn around and use in youth group each week.
18. Communion Thought
Each week during our weekend student services we need an adult to share a three-minute thought for students to think about just before our communion time. It’s a great time to teach the importance of receiving communion. During the week that you are assigned we ask that you share your communion thought during the Saturday night service and both Sunday morning services.
19. Relationship Bridge Builders for 5th & 6th grade
We need adults who love to help get people connected with other people. During our weekend services nearly two hundred 5th & 6th grade students enter room 120. Imagine a team of adults who were there to greet them, help them sign-in to the computers, they play a game with them and helped them get to know other students in the room. Studies show that if a person has made a certainly number of significant relationships during their first couple weeks at a church, they are more likely to stay and get more involved. You would help those relationships develop. Time Commitment: 1 hour 15 minutes a week- You pick which service you would like to serve, either during the Saturday night service or either of the two Sunday morning services.
20. Programming Assistant for 5th & 6th Grade
Each weekend there are three services for the 5th & 6th students in room 120. The programming assistant would help with lights, sound and video during the student services. You would be asked to either pick a consistent service time to assist each weekend or a weekend a month to help out. Time Commitment: Varies.
21. Prayer Team
Imagine if there was a team of adults who met each week in the prayer room during our Wednesday night program to pray for the hearts and minds of each young person who came through our doors. Imagine asking God for direction and guidance for their families and ultimately praying for the students and their family’s salvation. If you enjoy speaking to the Lord on behalf of others, this group is for you. Commitment: 1 hour/week- 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays
22. The Friendship Group (Special Needs Ministry)
Do you have a heart for students with special needs? Adult leaders in the Friendship Group build relationships with students and get to know them better each week as they get to know other students in the youth group. Commitment: 2 hours/week - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays
23. Audio, Visual, and Lighting (Weekends)
It takes a team of people behind the scenes every weekend and Wednesday night to make our student services happen. From managing a soundboard to running the computers that show our graphics, if you’re interested in helping with any of these areas, we’d love have you. Commitment: 2 hours/week - either during weekend services or on Wednesday nights
